Nigeria’s Faith Usoro has won a gold medal in the women’s triple jump at the African Games 2023 in Accra, Ghana.
Usoro clinched the medal with a mark of 13.80m.
It was the elegant athlete first-ever African title.
She will also compete in the women’s long jump event.
In the shot put event, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi successfully defended his title.
Enekwechi won the gold medal with a throw of 21.06m.
In the men’s 100m, Usheoritse Itsekiri won silver after coming through in a time of 10.23s.
Olayinka Olajide clinched the bronze medal in the women’s 100m.
The quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Patience Okon-George, Sikiru Adeyemi and Omolara Ogunmakinju won gold in the mixed 4x400m relay.
